About a year or so ago, at a regional sales meeting, we had an auction for our Business Development Managers. Those who bid were guaranteed a fabulous secret prize and Lionel Garcia, BDM for Central and South Texas was our lucky winner. What did he win? A visit from me! I just returned from this wonderful (and very overdue) trip and we had a really great time.
I had never been to Austin, Texas before and I absolutely adored this southern city. It seems I brought our magnificent South Floridian tropical weather with me, however, because as soon as I arrived it rained and kept on raining! They apparently had been in a drought so it was a good thing and we certainly didn’t let it stop us from having fun.
We spent the whole day in a whirlwind of Travel Agent office visits and concluded the evening with a special dinner for the area’s top sales performers. It was such a pleasure to meet these folks, pictured below. I immediately felt at home with them and highly valued their innovative ideas, feedback and suggestions. I only wish I had more time to spend in amazing Austin. This is definitely one city I intend to revisit… and next time for much, much longer.
